The Town of Saugeen Shores is located in the County of Bruce and includes the communities of Port Elgin and Southampton and has a population of approximately 15,900. The Town provides a comprehensive range of services to its citizens and visitors.
• Saugeen Shores operates two municipal tourist camps in Port Elgin and Southampton, offering full-service sites for seasonal and overnight campers located near downtown cores and beaches.
• The camps are centrally located and provide easy access to Lake Huron and popular beaches, enhancing tourism demand.

•The campgrounds run from May 1 to October 31, with offices typically open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during operation periods.
• Short-term/transient sites are available by day, week, or month, including peak-season rate adjustments over long weekends.
• Seasonal site waiting lists are currently suspended, indicating capacity pressures for longterm camping.
• Town-maintained rules and by-laws govern camper behavior, quiet hours, visitor restrictions, waste disposal/ diversion, recycling; pet requirements, indicating a structured operational environment that should be evaluated as part of the study.
