In 2025, the Town of Saugeen Shores adopted a Tree Protection By-law intended to protect and regulate the removal of trees on certain private properties within the municipality.

The by-law is scheduled to come into effect in April 2026. In preparation for implementation, the Town is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced arborist to assist with public education and outreach, as well as the administration of a permitting program related to tree removal.

The successful proponent will support the Town in communicating the requirements of the by-law to residents and stakeholders and will assist in reviewing and administering permit applications for the removal of protected trees in accordance with the by-law provisions.
